Police are searching for suspects who took part in a crime spree in Phoenix and Tempe overnight.

Around 1 a.m., a suspect reportedly entered the Whataburger restaurant near 48th Street and Broadway, flashed a gun and took off with money.

Within the next couple hours, two more people nearby were robbed, including someone who was carjacked by the group of suspects.

The group, believed to be around five people, split up in separate vehicles before one of the cars crashed into a moving train near Hardy and University in Tempe.

Three suspects from the wrecked car fled on foot, but police quickly apprehended them nearby.

Police say they are still searching for two more suspects, possibly still in the vehicle that was stolen during the carjacking.

Police are working to get better suspect descriptions, and at this time only describe the car as a dark-colored Nissan Altima or Maxima.
