A large vehicle caught on fire on northbound Interstate 17 near McGuireville on Sunday shortly before noon.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the fire happened around milepost 293 and spread to the median.
Officials did shut down the roadways near milepost 293 between Camp Verde and State Route 179 while fire fighters extinguished the flames but later one of the lanes of I-17 was reopened. There was about a three mile backup reported shortly after the incident.
