A northern Arizona pharmacist who admitted to stealing more than 3,000 prescription medicines and creating fake patients and prescription information was allowed to keep her license by the state pharmacy board, records show.
The Attorney General’s Office announced Tuesday Bailey McComb, 28, had been indicted on 14 felony counts.
However, ABC15 has obtained records from the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy that show board officials have been aware of the suspected crime for more than a year.
McComb and the state board agreed on a disciplinary action that suspended her license for six months. After the suspension, McComb was placed on probation for the next four-and-a-half years.

McComb is facing charges including fraud and drug possession, as well as fraud and identity theft in connection with the theft.
She is accused of taking thousands of doses of oxycodone, hydrocodone, and amphetamine salts while working as a pharmacist at a Show Low Safeway.
The pharmacy reportedly noticed massive inventory losses in March 2015. Safeway reviewed prescriptions and surveillance video that indicated McComb was creating patient profiles and dispensing medications after store hours.
Pharmacist intern Brian Timothy Ellis Witmer was also charged with several drug-related offenses in the indictment.
